FLOWERY BRANCH — The Atlanta Falcons today signed third round (98th overall) pick guard Mike Johnson. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Johnson, 6-6, 304 pounds, started 41 consecutive games along the University Alabama offensive line and set the school career-record by appearing in 54 contests. He was a member of the Crimson Tide’s 2009 National Championship team and in his senior season, he started in all 14 games and was a first-team All-America selection by the American Football Coaches Association, Walter Camp and the Associated Press. Johnson was also a unanimous All-SEC first-team choice as a senior.

The Falcons have now signed five of their seven 2010 NFL Draft selections, which include: defensive tackle Corey Peters (third round), Johnson (third round), center Joe Hawley (fourth round), cornerback Dominique Franks (fifth round), and safety Shann Schillinger (sixth round).
