Falcons release Redman, sign McCown

The Atlanta Falcons today announced that they have signed quarterback Luke McCown and released quarterback Chris Redman. McCown, 6-foot-3, 212 pounds, was originally selected as a fourth-round draft choice (106 overall) by the Cleveland Browns in the 2004 NFL Draft. McCown has seen action in 20 games, including nine starts during his career and has completed 184 of 316 pass attempts for 2,035 yards with nine touchdowns, and 14 interceptions.
