The Atlanta Falcons signed free agent cornerback Gabe Derricks and released kicker Steve Hauschka and tight end Colin Peek on Sunday.

Hauschka, who was signed as a free agent in December, converted an extra point and came up short on a 53-yard field goal attempt in the Falcons’ preseason open on Friday. Peek, an undrafted rookie from Alabama, failed to record any stats in the game.

Derricks returns to the Falcons after being cut July 31. He was originally signed as a rookie free agent in April. The 6-foot-3, 202-pound cornerback played his college ball at the University of San Diego, where he was a four-year starter.
