New Falcons coach Mike Smith continued to fill his staff by also naming Jeff Fish the strength and conditioning coach, Bill Hughan as Fish’s assistant and Tom McMahon as assistant special teams coach.
Armstrong, the Miami Dolphins’ special teams coach the last seven years, was Atlanta’s safeties coach from 1994-95 and secondary coach in 1996. He was the Chicago Bears’ special teams coach from 1997-2000.
Fish was the Oakland Raiders’ strength and conditioning coach the last four years after heading the University of Missouri’s strength and conditioning program for three years. Hughan was Fish’s assistant in Oakland the last four years and also worked with Fish at Missouri.
Fish also has worked as a strength coach in the NFL with Kansas City and Tampa Bay.
McMahon returns for his second season as Atlanta’s assistant special teams coach.
