ATLANTA — Atlanta Braves third baseman Juan Francisco has been designated for assignment. Thursday's move clears a roster spot for the team to select the contract of left-hander Alex Wood from Double-A Mississippi. Wood is with the team for Thursday night's game against Toronto.
