For the final time in their high school basketball careers, area seniors put their skills on display in the North Georgia All-Star Classic on Saturday, March 17, at Gainesville High.

The event featured a 3-point shootout and skills challenge for the boys and girls while also staging a slam dunk contest for the boys. The all-star squads were divided into the Home Team (players from Hall County) and Away Team (players from the surrounding area).

Johnson’s Will Richter and Flowery Branch’s Patsheko Lutumba shared boys MVP honors in the Home Team’s 109-96 victory. Buford’s Tory Ozment, a Michigan State signee, scored 17 points in her MVP performance to lead the Away Team to an 88-61 win in the girls all-star game.

Donovan Hernandez of Chestatee won the boys skills challenge, while Flowery Branch’s Lexie Sengkhammee prevailed in the girls skills challenge. The 3-point shootout winners were Natalie Nixon of North Hall (girls) and Jeremiah Crumley of Dawson County (boys).

Banks County’s Dylan Orr was victorious in the slam dunk contest.
