West Hall goes to 4-1 with 49-7 win at Fannin

Five West Hall players carried the ball for over 20 yards, and four different players scored rushing touchdowns in a 49-7 win over Fannin County on Friday in Blue Ridge.

The Spartans (4-1, 2-0 Region 7-AAA) opened scoring on a 17-yard pass from quarterback Zach English to Tyquan Statham halfway through the first quarter. West Hall went on to score four more times in the first on a 9-yard pass from English to Daniel Walsh, a fumble recovery on a kickoff that Statham took two yards and in, a 49-yard run by Kwon Williams, and a 20-yard pass from English to Hunter Atkinson.

Cameron Millsap put the Spartans up by 42 with a 3-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. After halftime, English scored on a 16-yard run.

The Rebels scored with one minute left in the game.

Williams led West Hall’s ground corps with 58 yards and a touchdown on four carries. English finished 7-of-8 passing for 99 yards and three scores.

The Spartans play host to powerhouse Buford next Friday in Oakwood.
