Lumpkin County's special teams scored in three different ways to lead the Indians to a 31-21 win over West Hall on Friday at Spartan Field.
After West Hall (2-8, 2-3 Region 8-AAA South) scored on its opening possession on a Chandler Newton touchdown pass, Lumpkin County's Ian McIntosh scored on the ensuing kickoff.
The next points came from a Lee Cagle blocked punt return for a touchdown. Chase Slocumb added a 37-yard field goal to put the Indians (6-4, 2-3 Region 8-AAA North) up 17-14 at halftime.
McIntosh scored two touchdowns on the Indians' first two possessions of the second half to add to the lead.
On West Hall's final drive, Newton threw an interception to Lumpkin County's Logan Maye which gave the Indians the opportunity to run out the clock.
Newton finished the game 8-of-14 passing for 136 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. A.J. Stephens and Rico Johnson caught touchdown passes and Johnson ran 21 times for 187 yards and a touchdown.
The season is complete for both teams.
