Lumpkin County scored its second win of the season Friday night, beating Our Lady of Mercy 40-14 at Dahlonega.
Indians’ junior running back Zach Matthews had four rushing touchdowns, including an 80 yard touchdown on the first play of the second half.
Matthews had 24 carries for 262 yards and four touchdowns. Sophomore running back Cole White had 20 carriers for 111 yards, and senior Austin Pierce had two rushing touchdowns.
Lumpkin County ran for 383 yards on 51 carries.
Our Lady of Mercy returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown.
Indians’ sophomore quarterback Chandler Woodham went 2-for-3 for 54 yards.
