River Ridge held on to defeat Lakeview Academy 28-21 on Friday in Woodstock.

After Matt Askounis scored on an 8-yard touchdown run in the final minute, the Lions were unable to recover an onside kick to complete the comeback.

Ted Reynolds tied the game at 7-7 in the second quarter on a 60-yard touchdown run.

Lakeview started the third quarter down 14-7 before Reynolds completed a 40-yard touchdown pass to Askounis.

The Lions gave up two scores to River Ridge in the fourth before the Askounis late score.

Lakeview (1-4) hosts North Cobb Christian on Friday.
