Lakeview ends 2-7 after 10-7 loss at Towns County

Lakeview Academy lost its season finale to Towns County 10-7 on Friday in Hiawassee.

Jay Underwood kicked a field goal to give Towns County the lead going into halftime.

Jackson Noblet scored a touchdown to put the Indians up with three minutes remaining in the game and secured the win, making the team 3-6 overall and tying them for the best record in school history.

Towns County searches for sole possession of that milestone as they travel to Hebron Christian Academy. next Friday in Dacula.

With the loss, Lakeview Academy finishes the season with a 2-7 record.

Nicholas Garrett, born and raised near the California coastline, required only one visit to Gainesville to fall in love with Riverside Military. Much to his delight, the feeling was mutual. Riverside Military on Tuesday announced Garrett’s hiring as its new football coach, bringing the former college coordinator across the country to revive a program that has won three games over the past two seasons.
