Dawson County held off Johnson 17-14 on Friday in the regular-season finale for both teams at Billy Ellis Memorial Stadium in Oakwood.
Tigers senior Hunter Mitchell scored a 39-yard touchdown run en route to reaching 1,000 rushing yards on the season.
Dawson County sophomore Coey Watson was able to surpass 2,000 passing yards in his first season starting for the Tigers.
Johnson made it interesting as freshman quarterback Sam Corbett connected with senior Orion Pittman for a 20-yard back shoulder touchdown pass with 1:32 remaining.

The Tigers were up 17-0 until Johnson running back Victor Pittman scored from 1 yard in the first minute of the fourth quarter to start the scoring for the Knights.
Dawson County finishes the regular season as region champions with a 7-3, 6-1 7-AAA record. Johnson finished 2-8.
