Heritage holds off Habersham Central, 45-42

Habersham Central lost to Heritage 45-42 in a wild shootout Friday night in Mount Airy.

The Raiders were down 21 points with two minutes left in the third quarter and had rallied to within three points before Harrison Kulp missed a 24-yard field goal with six seconds left.

Habersham Central's Kevin Ellison scored on a 57-yard touchdown run to get the attempted comeback started. The score was 42-28.

Sydnee Mulligan would score with 8 minutes left in the ball game on a 2-yard run, bringing the score to 42-35.

The game-tying score came five minutes later when Patrick Burns scored on a 2-yard run.

Kevin Ellison finished the games 20 carries for 227 yards and three touchdowns for the Raiders.

Habersham Central (4-3, 4-3 Region 8-AAAA) will travel to Loganville next week.
