Gainesville’s Demarcus Irons threw for 105 yards, rushed for 30 yards and had three touchdowns in a 28-0 win against Apalachee at R. Harold Harrison Stadium on Friday in Winder.

Irons was ejected in the second half of the game and will have to sit out next Friday's game against Lainer, per GHSA rules.

Calvin Murphy had a 55 yard punt return for the Red Elephants (5-4, 3-1 Region 8-AAAAAA). Gainesville’s Martavious Davis also had a receiving touchdown.

On Friday, Gainesville visits Lanier in Sugar Hill.
