Gainesville moved up one spot to No. 7 in the Class AAA top 10 of the Georgia Prep Football Poll released Tuesday by The Associated Press.

The Red Elephants (6-1, 3-0 8B-AAA) have now won six straight. Last week they defeated then-No. 9 Monroe Area 49-17. The No. 7 ranking represents Gainesville’s highest spot in the top 10 since the preseason poll was released in August.

Flowery Branch (7-0, 7-0 8-AAAA) remains at No. 6 in Class AAAA and Buford (7-1, 3-0 6A-AA) held at No. 2 in Class AA.

White County (6-1, 3-0 8A-AAA) was the only other area team to receive votes, coming in just outside the Class AAA rankings.
