Quarterback Daniel McCrary and wide receiver Johnathan Gilreath ended their careers at Lumpkin County on a particularly high note on Friday in the regular season finale, even though making the playoffs was out of the question. McCrary found Gilreath, his top receiver, on a touchdown pass in the back of the end zone with only 20 seconds remaining to complete a 31-28 upset win against playoff-bound Stephens County at The Reservation in Toccoa. Even though Lumpkin finished the season with a 2-8 record, this was a game in which both players stamped their names in the school record book.
