East Hall traveled to Carnesville Friday night and left with a 34-27 win over Franklin County to gain sole possession of second place in Region 7-AAA.
East Hall senior reciever Jacquen Hopkins had three touchdown catches, and senior running back Jiel Vargas had two rushing touchdowns.
“We were down 13-0,” East Hall coach Bryan Gray said. “The kids showed tremendous heart fighting back.
“This is one of the best wins East Hall has had in a long time.”
The Vikings had a total of 450 yards on offense,
The East Hall defense was led by strong performances by senior conerback Triquece Ware, senior safety Brock Griffin and the entire defensive line.
East Hall (4-4, 3-1 Region 7-AAA) hosts Fannin County 7:30 p.m. next Friday.
