Suffering a major concussion has given Chestatee’s Jay Mays ‘a fresh perspective on life,’ according to War Eagles coach Bill Forman. Mays was released from Northeast Georgia Medical Center around 1 a.m. Saturday morning after a hard hit forced him out of action in the third quarter of Chestatee’s 42-3 loss to West Hall on Sept. 4. “He had a concussion, but that was the extent of it,” said Forman on Tuesday.
