Top-ranked Buford stayed unbeaten Friday night with a 63-0 home victory over Banks County at Tom Riden Stadium.
Josh Thomas scored a pair of touchdowns to lead the Wolves’ offense.
Thomas scored on a 2-yard run and a 4-yard run and was the only Buford player to score multiple times. Ryan Coleman, Thomas, Isaac Nauta, Thomas Wilson and Donte Gordon all scored in the first quarter for the Wolves (4-0, 1-0 Region 7-AAA).
Thomas and Xavier Gant ran the ball in twice in the second quarter to put Buford up 49-0 at halftime. Gant was Buford’s leading rusher with 87 yards on four carries.
Martin Mangram and Damario Lott scored in the second half for the Wolves, and Taylor Mitchell, Montgomery VanGorder and Luke Humphrey combined at quarterback to go 9-of-9 passing for 172 yards.
The Buford defense did not surrender a first down in the game; Banks County recorded one first down as a result of a penalty.
The Wolves visit West Hall next Friday in Oakwood.
