Buford goes to 5-1 by blanking Johnson 48-0

Buford overwhelmed Johnson 48-0 on Friday night at Tom Riden Stadium.

The Wolves (5-1, 2-0 8-AAAAA) put four touchdowns on the board in the first quarter and coasted. Buford went on to score one touchdown in each of the remaining three quarters to complete the scoring.

Running back Anthony Grant carried the ball on the two opening offensive plays for the Wolves. His first went for 11 yards. Then he scampered 46 yards for a touchdown and his night was done.

Fellow running back Christian Turner carried the ball six times for 154 yards and three touchdowns in the first quarter and ended his night there.

Sophomore Derrian Brown had five carries for 80 yards and a touchdown as well.

The final play of the contest for the Wolves was a 78-yard touchdown pass from backup quarterback Will Westmoreland to Grant Breyo.

Buford ran just 22 offensive plays in the game.

The Wolves will travel to Cedar Shoals in Athens next week. Johnson will host Clarke Central.
