I would like to give a huge shout out to the Gainesville Parks & Recreation Department for the great job they did preparing four fields for the opening of Little League baseball on Saturday. All the fields were in great shape in spite of the heavy rains on Friday night and Saturday morning.

I would like to thank all the volunteers who cooked the chicken for the chicken-Q under the monsoon rains and tornado warnings. Great job.

It was special day for hundreds of children and their families.
