Your editorial this past Sunday was a perfect example of what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they spoke of the need for a free press in our country. We need to know when our elected officials take their election as permission to disregard their obligation to conduct the people’s business in an open manner and as part of the public record.
Council members and other locally elected officials have not been elected to enrich themselves, friends or family members; they are elected to manage government in the best interest of the citizens whom they represent. Please continue your reporting of the shenanigans going on in council chambers so voters can make more informed choices in the next election cycle.
