Letter: School garden is a cherished resource for learning, tranquility
Placeholder Image

I write following your articles in The Times about the impending destruction of the Smartville garden at Enota Multiple Intelligences Academy. What a gem this garden is! What other school in Gainesville, Hall County or Georgia has a garden so well designed for the needs of the school, the pupils, the staff and the environment?

Behind those conifers at the front of the school is an oasis of calm in nature. Right now there are blooms, birds and peace in which the pupils can study, learn and enjoy nature. It is a teaching resource, across all scholastic disciplines.

Do not let it be destroyed, all for a parking lot! In so doing, the Gainesville population loses a unique and special garden.
