I want to commend Gwendolyn Johnson for her beautiful letter to The Times on June 8 about growing up in public housing. She expressed, in a memorable way, truths that we all know but often do not focus on or verbalize, such as home is where the heart is, memories are to be cherished, community is important, and life is not always — but most of the time — what you make it.
Ms. Johnson is good with words. Her letter was a delight; it warmed the heart.
