Letter: Conservatives aim to interfere less doesnt make nation better

The opinion piece in Monday’s paper by John Stossel (“Clinton is eager to interfere in our lives”) was typical of the conservative claim that no government is good government. What Stossel and his loudmouth associates are not seeing is that their standard bearer, Donald Trump, is leading the conservative nation into oblivion.

Hillary Clinton, and her sidekick Bernie Sanders, are answering the call that we need an intelligent government that will accomplish tasks that need attention. We need a House and Senate that will pass needed legislation. Legislation that will interfere in my life. Legislation that will keep me and others from buying AR-15’s and similar insane weapons. Legislation that will interfere in my life by making control of climate change a priority. Legislation that will interfere in my life by making mass transit a way of life. Legislation that will interfere in my life by helping the homeless. Legislation that will interfere in my life by insuring that all of America’s children are getting a world class education.

I believe Clinton and a Democratic Senate and House will provide leadership and solutions to our problems. I also believe Trump and the Republicans will provide nothing but mindless sound bites that Fox News (where Stossel works) will eat up. Guess who I’m going to vote for?
