Authorities are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Wednesday afternoon inside a home on Park Street in Cumming.

The woman's name has not been released. Authorities have declined to comment on the death, other than to say it appears suspicious.

Cumming Police Detective John Coffman said the department and the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office are assisting the Georgia Bureau of Investigation with the case.

As of Wednesday night, investigators remained on the scene at 110 Park St.

The house is in an older neighborhood at the corner of Park and Denson Drive, off Pilgrim Mill Road near Cumming City Park.
