A Buford woman was flown this afternoon by helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta after suffering injuries in a 1:45 p.m. wreck on Interstate 985 in the southbound lanes north of Exit 17.

The 45-year-old woman overcorrected her steering and lost control of her Ford Focus, which flipped twice and landed in a ditch about 200 feet from the interstate, Gainesville police Officer Joe Britte said.

"She is in serious condition," he added.

The woman's name wasn't immediately known.
