A day at Lake Lanier turned tragic Sunday afternoon after a woman found unresponsive in the water died later at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. “We are still investigating as to how (she) wound up in the lake,” said Deputy Nicole Bailes, Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman. An autopsy likely will take place this week, although “there were no obvious signs of foul play,” she said.
