Westminster Christian School has named a new headmaster to begin work July 1.
Scott C. Smith, who heads Hebron Christian Academy in Dacula, will become the school’s first leader in two years.
He succeeds Craig Bouvier. Bill Franklin served as the school’s interim headmaster last year.
Elementary principal Carol Cox also has helped lead the school.
"Scott has a very vibrant walk with the Lord and desires to encourage our children to be lifelong followers of Christ, equipped academically, socially and spiritually to fulfill God’s plan for their lives," said Al Gainey, Westminster board chairman, in a Jan. 18 announcement on the school Web site.
Westminster, which is at 1397 Thompson Bridge Road, has students in 4-year-old pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.
Parents are set to meet with Smith at 7 p.m. Thursday in the sanctuary of Westminster Church, which houses the school. The session is open to the public.
