Two vacant homes were deemed total losses this weekend after separate fires engulfed the buildings.

Firefighters arrived at 11:30 p.m. Friday at a home at 5031 Little River Drive to find the unoccupied 1,000-square-foot home fully involved in flames. Hall County fire department Capt. Scott Cagle said the home sustained $75,000 in damage and was a complete loss.

The residence appeared to be a vacation or weekend home, and owners have not been determined and notified. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A fire Saturday night destroyed an unoccupied mobile home. The singlewide mobile home at 5414 Lowman Drive was in flames when firefighters arrived at 7:15 p.m.

Cagle said the cause of the mobile home fire appears to be accidental, and likely started in the electrical panel box. The home was destroyed after sustaining $1,500 in damage. No one was injured in either fire.
