Water issues not a big focus in state races

Two decades of “water wars” between Georgia, Florida and Alabama are barely registering as a skirmish in political races leading up to the Nov. 4 election. Campaign publicists in each state’s gubernatorial races either couldn’t be reached for comment or had little response when asked whether the issue, which has ramped up in the courts lately, has kicked up any dust among candidates. “There was a question about water at the debate Tuesday but ... there’s been nothing else,” said Brian Robinson, campaign spokesman for Republican Gov.
