Waffle House plans to start building a new restaurant off McEver Road in Flowery Branch.

Construction is set to start in April and finish in June, said Kelly Thrasher, spokeswoman for the Norcross-based chain.

She didn’t have further details about the restaurant, which will be near Gainesville Street and Jim Crow Road on the west side of the city.

"Most of our buildings are pretty much the same, give or take a few booths or seats," Thrasher said.

Despite an economic downturn, the restaurant business is buzzing in Flowery Branch. Lake House Bar & Grille, Tropical Breeze Restaurant and Cheeseburger Bobby’s also have opened at locations around town.
