Authorities have released the names of the two drivers who were killed in a head-on wreck Tuesday morning in North Forsyth. According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Valerie Jean Martin of Cumming and Shane Michael Thurmond, 42, of Dawsonville, died after the collision on Ga. 53 near Porter Lane. The wreck occurred about 9 a.m. Tuesday when a 1994 BMW driven by Thurmond crossed the highway and struck a 1991 Honda Civic.
