Two men were accused of burglarizing a home in Flowery Branch, and police said they are possibly connected to other burglaries across Hall and Gwinnett counties.
Enrique Cortes Figueroa, 28, of Grayson, and Jorge Enrique Navarro, 28, of Norcross, were charged with first-degree burglary by Flowery Branch Police.
Investigator Robin Kemp said the two men were accused of “committing a burglary at a home of an Asian family in Sterling on the Lake in Flowery Branch.”
Kemp said cash, jewelry and four pocketbooks were stolen but later recovered.
A third suspect fled the scene, Kemp said.
“The two suspects are possibly connected to other burglaries in the Hall and Gwinnett County areas where Asian business owners were targets,” Kemp wrote in an email.
Gwinnett County Police said last month the investigators that there has been “an increase in crimes against Asian business owners” since March in Gwinnett County and the metro Atlanta area.
