A tractor-trailer truck overturned Friday morning on Ga. 60/Queen City Parkway at Aviation Boulevard, backing up traffic on Ga. 60.

A tractor-trailer truck carrying 65,000 pounds of frozen chicken overturned Friday morning on Ga. 60/Queen City Parkway at Aviation Boulevard in Gainesville.

The driver, Dennis Davis, of Little C Trucking in Hawkinsville, was turning right from Aviation onto Ga. 60 when cargo shifted in the truck, which then overturned on its left side, said Trooper Jonathan Munger, spokesman for the Georgia State Patrol’s Post 6 in Gainesville.

Davis, 50, of Cordele, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he was evaluated and later released.

He was charged with failure to maintain lane, Munger said.

No other vehicles were involved in the 7:30 a.m. wreck, which caused traffic backups.

The chicken was valued at $150,000, Munger said.
