Here’s what has been happening in Hall County:

  1. It's almost lake season, and any boaters out there should know the slow no wake zone in the Clarks Bridge area has expanded.
  2. A new solicitor general has been named for Hall County. Inez Grant will replace Stephanie Woodard, who resigned as part of a plea deal after mishandling funds.
  3. Two new restaurants are coming to Braselton: Miller’s Ale House and First Watch
  4. An Alto woman is accused of child cruelty involving a 2-year-old. Investigators say they found evidence on Snapchat that she hogtied the child with belts and yarn as well as pulled him around with a dog leash. She’s also accused of giving the child a joint and letting him smoke it.
  5. A student at UNG in Dahlonega is accused of threatening library staff and officials say he had a handgun in his waistband and a semiautomatic rifle in his car. He has been taken into custody.
