A toddler found unconscious Saturday in a swimming pool died Sunday of brain injuries.

Alyssa Kidd, daughter of Danielle Hutcheson and Corey Kidd, was found Saturday floating unresponsive in the family pool, Hall County Sheriff's Col. Jeff Strickland said.

She died at 4 p.m. on Sunday at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, Strickland said.

Hall County Fire and Emergency Services and Hall Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a house in the 5100 block of Strickland Road off Ga. 53 shortly before 6:30 p.m. Saturday, he said.

Strickland said a relative was giving the 20-month-old girl CPR when emergency workers arrived.

The girl was rushed Saturday to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, then flown by helicopter at about 8:30 p.m. to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, Strickland said.

The incident appeared to be accidental and no foul play is suspected, Strickland said.
