The Gainesville Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Monday night at Mary's Grocery in the 200 block of Atlanta Highway.

Two suspects entered the store wearing dark clothing and masks, with one of them brandishing a handgun.

They demanded money from the register. The employees complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, said Officer Kevin Holbrook.

The suspects then left the store and went to an awaiting vehicle, he added.

The suspects are described as Hispanic or black males, about 5-foot-6 and weighing 130 pounds.
