Teenager charged with entering cars on Dawsonville Highway

A Hall County teenager was accused of entering cars Friday on Dawsonville Highway, police said.

Gainesville Police responded to multiple entering auto and damage reports at 895 Dawsonville Highway, a commercial dining area.

“During the course of the investigation, officers identified a 16-year-old male juvenile as the perpetrator,” Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said in a news release.

Police did not disclose the name of the juvenile.

The juvenile was charged with two counts of entering autos, obstruction of an officer, terroristic threats, criminal damage to property and criminal trespass. He was taken to Dalton Regional Youth Detention Center.

Holbrook said the cars had scratches.

“While investigating it, he had made comments (threatening in nature) to one of the victims with the officer present,” Holbrook said.
