A man is now in custody following an investigation into about $150,000 worth of methamphetamine found at two locations in Hall County in December.

Authorities attempted to arrest William Suarez, 62, of Las Vegas and Hall County, on Jan. 6 when he was found during an unrelated investigation, according to a news release from the Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad.

Lt. Scott Ware reported that Suarez fought with one agent and tried to get his gun.

Suarez was placed in a marked Hall County Sheriff’s Office vehicle in handcuffs but then escaped, Ware said.

Suarez was later arrested in Las Vegas some time between late February and early March and extradited to Hall County, where he was booked Saturday into the Hall County Jail.
