Revenue projections for a new five-year round of special purpose local option sales taxes, or SPLOST VII, will be unveiled when local government officials meet May 19. Hall County is pressing forward with a ballot referendum this fall asking voters to approve the capital funding program, a 1 percent sales tax to pay for government infrastructure and development expenses, such as road improvements and public works projects. Georgia Tech economist Dr. Alfie Meek has been hired by the county to help formulate revenue projections.
