The fate of two proposed apartment complexes — one in Oakwood and another in Flowery Branch — is up in the air after both were passed over for tax credits as part of a Georgia Department of Community Affairs affordable housing program. Earlier this year, St. Simons Island-based Clement & Co. had gotten Flowery Branch’s OK to build Dogwood Park off East Main Street near Thurmon Tanner Parkway. And Atlanta-based Landbridge Development was approved by Oakwood to build Peaks of Oakwood off Atlanta Highway/Ga. 13 near Blackshear Place Baptist Church.
