Concerns about setting a bad precedent have given pause to some Hall County officials over whether to approve a discounted rate for a private trash collection service to dispose at the Candler Road landfill. Gainesville-based Red Oak Sanitation, which provides residential curbside trash pick-up in parts of unincorporated Hall County, as well as all of Flowery Branch, currently dumps at a landfill in Banks County. But that’s a long, costly drive for Red Oak.
