Fall is officially 11 days away, but North Georgians can turn down the AC and take a short break from the summer heat with some cooler fall temperatures over the next few days.

The National Weather Service forecast for Gainesville calls for cloudy skies with highs in the mid-70s today and little chance of rain. It will be breezy as well, with winds from 10-15 mph. Tonight's lows will dip into the mid-50s with a stiff breeze continuing.

Sunday will be a perfect day for outdoor activities: Sunny with a high around 72, winds still blowing up to 20 mph. Overnight temps will drop back into the mid-50s.

The work week will begin with clear skies and temps climbing back to the uppper 70s on Monday. Though a warming trend will continue through the week and bring temperatures back to seasonal levels, skies will stay clear and the nights cool over the next several days with no raindrops in the forecast.

The autumnal equinox is set for Sept. 23.
