Six people suffered injuries that were not life-threatening in a three-vehicle accident Saturday night that blocked southbound traffic on Interstate 985, Gainesville police said.

The accident occurred around 7 p.m. near Exit 18, according to Gainesville Police Sgt. Joe Britte.

He said six patients were transferred to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

Traffic was backed up southbound but the wreck was being cleared by mid-evening, Britte said.
