The reports that Hector Garcia-Solis has died are not true, according to the Sheriff's Office.

After multiple rumors on social media Friday afternoon that the alleged shooter in the slaying death of Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicolas Blane Dixon had died, The Times reached out to the sheriff's office, which confirmed Garcia-Solis was still alive.

When asked if Garcia-Solis had died, spokesman Derreck Booth wrote in a text message, "That's not accurate. He is alive."

“He’s not at the Hall County Jail but remains under the care of medical professionals,” Booth previously told The Times on Wednesday.

Garcia-Solis is one of four suspects in Dixon's death. Dixon was killed July 7 during a foot pursuit in the area of Highland Avenue in Gainesville.
