BUFORD — Several rescue teams, including the Hall County Dive Team, have resumed searching for a male swimmer reported missing Saturday in Lake Lanier near Buford Dam.

Crews responding just after 8 p.m. found a group of people reporting that a friend was last seen about two hours before wading in the water. They said he could not swim nor had a life jacket.

A search of the area by swift water personnel located what appeared to be a person's body underwater but out of the reach from crews. That's when the Hall dive team was called to assist.

Other agencies involved in the search are Dawson County Emergency Services' K-9 unit, Forsyth County Fire Dive Team, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers, said Lt. Eric Eberly of Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.
