Schools prepare for end of Race to the Top funding

Millions of dollars available to school systems across the state are dwindling to an end, as federal funding is set to expire next year. The money from the grant, known as Race to the Top, comes from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Federal funds totalling $4 billion were set aside to help school systems implement Race to the Top mandates; Georgia was awarded $400 million.
