Reward offered for information on August shooting

Police are asking for information on an August shooting in Gainesville, and reward money is possible if it leads to an arrest and indictment.

Gainesville Police said Terry Maddox Sr., was at Sparkles, a club on Athens Street, around 3:30 a.m. Aug. 20 when an argument started.

“Upon leaving, the subject in question pulled a gun and fired multiple shots at Maddox as he fled down Athens Street,” according to the police’s news release.

Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said Maddox was uninjured.

On Sept. 9, 2016, police investigated a fatal shooting involving Terry Jerome Maddox Jr., 30, of Gainesville. Police said Maddox had been shot multiple times.

Anyone with information can submit it anonymously on the Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta tip line at 404-577-8477 and online at crimestoppersatlanta.org.

A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered, and a person giving information does not have to give their name to be eligible.
