Reward offered in copper theft case

The theft of some $10,000 worth of copper from a Gainesville business has led to an investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and a reward for any information on the incident.

Sometime between Nov. 23 and Dec. 3, thieves stole approximately $10,000 worth of copper from seven commercial air conditioning units at a warehouse on Monroe Drive, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.

The business owner is offering $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft and damage.
